Summer 2021 (June-July)

JUNE

The boys created this indoor baseball game with a ball and an old bubble wand.  So funny but they love it!

They still love their color changing cars!  This is the best toy I have gotten to keep them busy.  They play with them for so long.  They do need to get new water often but play on their own so I will take it!

We went to the Raccoon River festival day with Tyler's family.  They had arts and crafts, food and fire trucks. It was hot but the boys had fun!

Steph came to visit so we had a girls lunch!  It was fun to catch up!  I love talking to my high school friends.

It was so hot outside so Greg took the boys to the splash park.  The boys had a blast!

It is very noticeable at times to see baby girl moving around in my belly!  I love feeling these baby movements.  This is one thing I will miss about pregnancy.

The bump is getting bigger!

The boys and I made beaded fish and they had fun making them!  They did better with this than I expected.

Papa read to the boys at Sunday dinner!  Blake was all about the spiders.

Then they had a fun dance party to their favorite song, "I'm still standing"!

Nana gave us some left over cake and it turned a tongues blue!

The boys found their winter hats and boots and decided that is what they wanted to wear.  I am sure they will change their mind once they step outside and feel how hot it is!

Caught Blake reading to himself!  I can't understand what he is saying but he is reading his train book.  I have been noticing Blake has been having quick jerks every once in a while.  I noticed it at first in May and it kept happening.  No one else noticed it at first because it is such a quick movement.  I decided to go take Blake to the doctor and he scheduled an hour EEG.  The EEG showed myoclonic seizures.  To say I was a mess when I got the diagnosis is an understatement.  We then got into the neurologist at Blank and they wanted us to go on medication right away.  We didn't like the doctor so we are going to get a second opinion.  We are so scared to put our 2.5 year old on medicine with such scary side effects!  We are also going to get a brain MRI to make sure there is nothing going on in the brain to cause this.  The last thing we are going to get done is genetic testing to see if he has a gene that is causing this.  I am praying all of these things come back normal so that we know it isn't guaranteed a forever problem and we have a chance of out growing the seizures.  We can't get into the neurologist in Iowa City until August so we are just going to wait to do any treatment until then.

For a short moment the boys were playing nicely at Nana and Papa's house.

The boys went fishing with Grandpa and they all caught fish!  The boys had a lot of fun with Grandpa!

JULY

We took the boys to the aquatic center by our house and we had a blast!  It was hot outside so a perfect pool day and it wasn't too busy!  The boys had a blast!

The boys are still loving to dance to Sing!  It has been the one movie to entertain our kids over and over again.

We went to the Waukee 4th of July with my friend, Steph's family.  It was hot but the boys has so much fun and got too much candy!

I had to get a picture of the boys in their nice clothes looking so handsome!  They are so goofy so it takes quite a few pictures to get a good one but I love all the outtakes just as much!

We got a slip n slide for our backyard.  We thought it would work a little better with our hill but it was not quite steep enough.  Blake was scared of it but Grant had fun!

We got Blake's MRI done right after the 4th of July.  I was SO nervous.  He had to get sedation for it and that always makes me nervous but also worried if that would cause more seizures.  I was also nervous about the IV going in but he did pretty good for being so young and awake.  Overall, it was a smooth procedure and he did great.  We actually got the phone call saying it was all normal when we were walking out of the hospital!  Thank God for that miracle! And I was so happy we didn't have to wait for days to hear.

Grant's classroom has dance parties and he is loving Cotton Eyed Joe.  He loves dancing to it and we have to listen to it in the car too.  It is his new favorite!

We catch Blake sleeping in the funniest but cutest ways!  We love checking in on him and seeing how he is laying that night!

Ignore the mess (it is constant) but the boys have been loving this racetrack and it has been keeping them busy which I like being so pregnant and tired!

Baby was showing off the other afternoon! She was sticking out her butt (I think) and it was very noticeable!

Blake has been all about his Mom these days and so we had to take a cute picture of him at Grant's soccer game.

More wrestling with Dad.  Thankfully I am getting the girl.  She better not be a wrestler too. I need a break from it!

This sweet boy can't catch a break.  We are so worried that this sickness will cause more seizures but so far we have been okay.  We are hoping it gets better soon!

Baby girl is getting big and she looks low!  I have not been as good about bump pictures this time around but I feel huge!

Blake is loving this chipmunk that Nana gave him.  He thinks it is hilarious!

Grant had swim lessons a few weeks before I was due.  I was very nervous I would go into labor at Greg would be 25 minutes away but luckily that didn't happen.  Grant did great but we still have a lot of work left to do.

Grant played soccer with his friends from daycare again and had a great time.  We had some hot days but really it wasn't too bad which is a lot coming from a very pregnant person!

Blake has been singing Twinkle Twinkle for us from a book he reads at night.  His sweet voice is just adorable!

Then Grant had to sing too!  He made up this great song for us!

Baby girl is not in the right spot.  I think she is sunny side up but the doctors don't seem to care.  So I am trying all the techniques to get her to flip.  I don't think it is working though.  I just really don't want a c-section for my 3rd delivery!

The boys were spiderman and looked so cute!  They have to shoot their webs at us and I just love it!

We got Greg's old ipad out to see how the boys would like it and they love it.  They are getting their own tablets from baby girl and they are going to love them.

Baby girl has stayed in a week after her due date.  I was almost positive she would come early but I was wrong.  I think it is because she is not in the right position.  My mom has been staying here every night since my due date in case I go into labor in the night.  I am so nervous that I will not make it to the hospital in time and will have to deliver at my house or in the car.  If she doesn't come soon then I will have to be induced and I don't want that either!

Grant is on Hive Pack Hoops and it has been a frustrating season for the team. It was fun to watch Grant score a free throw though. He was so proud of himself!

I tried to make cinnamon sugar sourdough bread and it still didn't turn out like I thought. The kids still wouldn't eat it which was my goal. AND it was a lot of work. So fail on that part but hoping to try bagels next and I have heard they are easier and better.
