Spring 2020 (April-June)

APRIL

Caught Blake reading some books today!  I love when I catch him reading quietly.  As you can imagine, this doesn't happen very often.  It is usually constant chaos with 2 boys.

The hair salons are closed because of covid.  All of the boys desperately needed haircuts.  I did my best with them but they boys did NOT like it!  They screamed the whole time and I am sure our neighbors wondered how we were torturing our kids and it was just a hair cut!

Blake still does this cute hand game.  I have no idea where he came up with it but we love watching him do it!

I was working out and Grant had to join me!  I loved having the company even though it didn't last long. I have been off work since the beginning of April.  Elective cases are canceled right now due to Covid.  Lets hope it doesn't last long and I can go back soon!

We can't go to the park so we went out for a bike ride.  It has been nice weather for the most part and it is nice to get outside as much as we can!

I got some Easter eggs out early and we had an Easter egg hunt!  The boys loved it and they asked to do it multiple times. Success!

This is a cute moment of Grant kissing Blake and helping him!  I love seeing these moments.

They are all sweet and then go straight to wrestling!

Blakey loves his stuffed doggy these days!  He will go and get it if we ask.  What a smart boy!

I have been trying all the thing to keep these busy boys active so I got out the sensory bin with beans.  Blake loved it so much he thought it would be better to sit in it to play.  I am fine with it if it keeps him entertained!

We can't go to the park but we walked over the the open field by the city hall.  We brought Tball and soccer balls to play.  It was a beautiful morning and so it was nice to get out and do something fun!

I used the eggs for another activity to keep Blake entertained.  He loved this one also and did it multiple times!

Grant says granola bar in a way only Greg and I can tell. If you didn't know what he was saying you would have no idea!

Since everything is still closed, including bars, bands can't play right now.  Our neighbors in a band and had a driveway concert.  It was a beautiful night outside and we brought out the train table so the boys played while we enjoyed the music.  It was one of the best nights we've had in a long time!

The boys got some sunglasses and loved them!

Grant is mad whenever we go on a walk and can't stop at the park.  We understand your frustration, Grant!  We think its silly even the parks are closed.

Blake has been giving me kisses!  We missed the best ones, of course,  but caught a few cute kisses!

We dyed Easter eggs! It is definitely stressful with 2 little boys but we made it work and got it done.  The boys had so much fun dying the eggs even if Greg and I were stressed.

The Easter bunny came!  Grant got a little discouraged when he couldn't find his Easter basket and needed some help finding it but they loved their presents from the bunny.  The Easter bunny even had an Easter egg hunt in the basement!  Blake loved the m &m's!

Grant and I made chocolate chip cookies for a snack and they were delicious!  He was a big help making the cookies.

Blake is done eating or he doesn't like what I served him so he is just throwing it on the floor.  Oh so frustrating and our floor is a mess!

We spend the afternoon practicing cutting and coloring.  Grant loved cutting-he still needs some work but loves to practice!

I have been trying a few "homeschool" activities. Grant loved this one.  It was a bunch of stickers and he was to circle all the ones he likes.  He ended up circling all of them in the end but it was fun.

Oh boys.  They just love playing in the rocks, mud and water.  As long as it is keeping them busy, I am fine with it!

Blake is coloring on the easel for us!  He is doing a great job!

It snowed...again.  I do NOT like snow in April.  This better be the last snow of the year!  It looks like this is the end of it and it was actually a nice day to play outside in the snow since it wasn't that cold.  Lets hope it melts soon and we can get back to playing outside.

Blake was a tired boy he fell asleep on the couch!

Grant and I enjoyed watching some TV while cuddling, holding hands and being goofy.

We have been busy this month baking!  Cookies, banana bread and now brownies!  Grant is a big help and they were delicious!

We went to Nana and Papa's house and had some races.  Grant won every race of course but Blake had a blast just being a part of the fun!

Greg has been working from home and Blake doesn't like him working and he isn't able to see him!  It is hard for Greg to work from home with the boys here but he is getting rid of his office soon since no one is going into the office.  We will put all of his stuff in storage for now.

Greg taught Grant how to grab me a beer.  Grant thought it was so funny to bring me a beer!

Blake pushed off of our table and fell backwards in his high chair.  It was the scariest thing ever and Greg and I feel horrible!  He had a bump and a sore but he seemed fine other than that.  We are definitely not letting that happen again.  He will either be in his high chair away from the table or sitting like a big boy at the table.

I couldn't take it and he is just going to sit at the table like a big boy from now on!

I have been going for a run in the morning and Grant wanted to go on one with Dad too!  They only made it around the block and that was too long for Grant.

We have been spending so much time outside.  I am so thankful for the nice weather so we are able to do this.  The boys love playing with the sand box and water table.  Grant is making some food for me and it keeps them busy!

We put Blake in a helmet because we can't trust him.  Just kidding but ironically he loves this helmet and won't take it off.  We aren't complaining.  Any extra protection to that head and we will take it!

We took the boys fishing one morning.  Blake was all over the place but Grant loved it.

Grant found his Thomas outfit from Halloween and wanted to dress up!  Blake is so sweet and giving his brother hugs.

We got to meet Leslie's new puppy, Harley!  Blake loved Harley but Grant was scared of her.  She is so sweet!

We had to get out the bounce house again so the boys could burn off some energy!  It is a great place to burn off energy.

We have been trying to teach Grant how to ride on his balance bike.  He likes him bike with training wheels better but we think the transition to a real bike will be easier if he learns to balance.

MAY

We went on a walk with the bike but it was too much work for Grant to make it home on the bike.  So we walked home right next to the bike. :)

Entertaining my boys with snapchat.  They love the different filters.

Our bushes in the front were looking sad so I decided to take out all the rock and put some mulch down.  Taking out the rock was a bigger task than I was expecting.  We haven't finished the walkway yet but I think the bushes look great!

Grandma and Grandpa came down and took Grant fishing!  He was excited to go.  He got a little wet but caught a fish!

Blake is loving peanut butter and jelly these days.  Well, anything really that has peanut butter in it.  He is a boy after his parents heart.  Just like us.

We got a package and the boys loved the bubble wrap.  Such a fun activity to pop the bubbles!

Blake found a Santa figure and goes around saying "santa" "ho ho".  Of course, we couldn't get the best one on video but we caught him saying "ho ho".

Every since our neighborhood concert we left the train table in the garage and will let the boys run around and play in the garage.  They found some boxes and decided they wanted to play in those!

Grant got a big boy bed!! He was so excited.  He still loved his crib but it was time.  So far I don't think he realizes he can get out but I am sure that will change soon.  So lets hope he stays in his bed and we aren't up all night.

The sun was too bright for these little boys so they had to take my sunglasses while I was driving.  Good thing I could still see with the bright sun while driving. :)

Greg was mowing the lawn and the boys followed him around and mowed the lawn with him.  It was so cute to watch!

The boys went on a walk around the block and Grant pulled Blake. He even pulled him up the big hill at the end.  We were impressed how strong he is!

Greg took the boys up to Grandma and Grandpa's house and they played out on the playset.  They had a fun time!

Greg got out his old construction toys and the boys loved them.  They are still a little too rough with them but we are surprised they are still working.

Sunglasses were popular this month.  The boys loved them.  Blake looks so cool in the sunglasses!

Our house is officially on the market!  It is exciting!  We just finished all the renovations and didn't even have time to enjoy them all.  We have a bunch of showings this first weekend so hopefully we get an offer!

The boys are picking up sticks so our yard looks nice for the showings. The boys actually loved doing this.

Auntie Kellie gave us some of her magic tracks and they were a hit!

JUNE

Last fall Greg and I spent a day leveling our yard and putting down dirt, seed and straw over that.  It was a lot of work but we did it!  We have been lucky with a warm spring and Greg has been watering our lawn daily.  It looks great!  Best it has ever looked!  Blake likes going out and helping Dad water.

Blake loves singing the Thomas song!  Such sweet moments.

We created a magnatile ramp where the ball goes down and comes out the bottom.  They are the best toys and I can see how all ages would love them.

Oh my goodness!  He looks so adorable with just the cutest smile!!

Grant is pretending to drink a "beard" or beer.  Maybe we have been having beer too often at night for him to be copying us!

I took Grant to the future house to watch the cement being poured!  He loved all the big cement mixers!  Crazy our house is officially being built!

Blake is talking to great these days.  I am impressed because I have heard a lot of second kids don't talk as soon or as well since the older one does all the talking.  He is doing a great job!

Greg and I go multiple times a week to watch out house being built.  We aren't supposed to be there but, of course, we have to go look at it.  It is exciting to watch the progress.

Grant was sad I was working late.  Greg sent me this video at work.  It is cute to see he misses me but makes me feel bad for not being home!

Blake saying "Happy Fathers Day" to Greg. He did a great job with it!

We went to the park this weekend to get out of the house and celebrate Dad!

The next day we went biking as a family.  We biked to a few parks and stopped and played.  It was a fun morning!

I noticed this bite that Blake got on his leg.  It is black but maybe a blood blister?  We will keep watching it and see what happens with it.

We caught Blake trying to work like Daddy.  Hopefully he didn't send any emails!

We officially sold our house!  We got a full price offer and took it!  Today was the closing day.  We are so excited and can't wait to be in our new house.

I tried to make cinnamon sugar sourdough bread and it still didn't turn out like I thought. The kids still wouldn't eat it which was my goal. AND it was a lot of work. So fail on that part but hoping to try bagels next and I have heard they are easier and better.
