November 2023

Claire and Grant have been getting along well these days.  He is patient with her (most of the time) and she, of course, always wants to play with her big brothers.

Claire was sick with diarrhea so we had a special day home together.  She is just on a different level than the boys.  She is so much calmer and less destructive.  It always amazes me how different they play.

Caught this video of girls playing versus boys playing and it just makes me laugh how different they are!

Claire likes to dress up like a princess and wear jewelry.  So far she is quite the girly girl!

Grant and Blake are playing basketball at the Recplex again this winter. Grant has his friend Josie on the team and Blake has his friend Carson on the team.  They are having fun playing!

I took the boys to their annual physical and they were so good compared to years previous!  They sat in the waiting room reading sports magazines and they behaved so well for the doctor.  What a few years difference can make!  They are both growing very well and are healthy.  They both grew 3 inches this year and the average it 2 inches so that is good.

We took the boys to Blippi at the Civic Center.  We had great seats!  The show was mediocre but the boys had fun.  Grant was happy with the surprise but Blakey was sad at first.  He was also worried about the loud noises.  He had fun once we got there though and it wasn't too loud for him.

We celebrated Grant's friends birthday at Spare time for a bowling/laser tag party.  Grant has fun and the boys were well behaved!  His friends know him well and got him some good gifts!  We found out later that Tyler broke his 2 finger by smashing them between 2 balls.  We feel horrible that happened at Grant's party!

Right after the friend party we had the family party.  A lot of partying and sugar in one day!  We catered Olive Garden and had homemade banana cake that Nana and Grant made together.  He is one lucky boy!

I caught a cute moment with Uncle Mit and Claire. Claire was scared of my brothers at first but has definitely warmed up to them and is not scared at all anymore!

On Grant's birthday he got donuts for breakfast and opened his presents from Mom and Dad.  I brought his Chick-fil-a for lunch and he got chocolate chip cookies at school to celebrate his birthday!  Dad picked him up after school and he got to pick out a book from the book fair, we made him his favorite dinner with steak and mashed potatoes and he spent the evening playing his new favorite game-Madden.  I think it is safe to say he had a pretty great birthday!

This was cute a moment with the boys.  Grant was reading Blake one of his new books!  Claire ruins this video with her meltdown but the boys are so used to these it doesn't even phase them.

Aunt Nicki got Claire some new clothes!  Claire loves them and loves her kitty shirt!

Blake had his first play date at his friend, Carson's house, and had a blast!  He didn't want to come home.  He asked Ashley and Mike how much longer until he goes home and they asked if he wanted to go home now and he replies "No! I want to stay here for all of the days!"  So I guess they gained another son and we lost one!

We put up the tree the weekend after Grant's birthday.  The kids couldn't wait to put it up and we wanted to have it up to start the season!  The kids had a blast putting the tree up with out help and I think it looks great!

Greg didn't want to put the Christmas lights up himself this year (and I don't blame him).  Our roof is so steep I was happy he decided not too but getting them put up was too much money for us to Greg put some lights on our pillars, up the walkway and we got a minion!  The kids loved our minion and the lights turned out great thanks to Greg!

We were looking for something to do one cold Saturday morning so we went to Valley West Mall to play and run around.  It turns out Santa was already at the mall so we were not planning on it but got to visit him today!

Claire and I had so much fun playing with her tea cup.  I love when she says "I funny"  I hope she always thinks so positively about herself.  She is just so fun these days.

All 3 kids had to come over and give me a hug!  You can see Claire's face peaking out in one of the pictures.  I love these hugs and being loved by these kids.  I will take these hugs as long as they are willing to give them to me.

We finally got some snow!!  This was a milestone moment because Grant was able to put on all his snow stuff by himself and they went out to play without me!  I was able to stay in the warmth and watch them from a window.  Also, they lasted outside for quite a while so the struggle of getting the snow gear on was worth it.

Nana watched Claire so I could go and watch Blake and Grant play basketball.  Claire loves these finger puppets and always put them on and sings "Mommy finger mommy finger where are you?"  So Nana got a show of Claire singing her song.  She is just so precious.

Grant has been doing some eye movements with his eyes starting in August so we finally got into an eye doctor.  Grant did NOT like having the dilating drops put in his eye but wanted to see him eyes dilated.  We tried to get a picture but his eyes are so dark it is hard to see.  His eyes are fine but the Doctor thinks it is due to dry eyes and some blocked oil ducts in the eye.  So he will need eye drops a few times a day and we will need to put a warm compress on his eyes for a few minutes a day.  Lets hope this helps!

Grant is on Hive Pack Hoops and it has been a frustrating season for the team. It was fun to watch Grant score a free throw though. He was so proud of himself!

I tried to make cinnamon sugar sourdough bread and it still didn't turn out like I thought. The kids still wouldn't eat it which was my goal. AND it was a lot of work. So fail on that part but hoping to try bagels next and I have heard they are easier and better.
